A number of Celebrate projects from across Scotland are heading to the 2014 Games, thanks to an exciting ticket giveaway from the Scottish Government. They are amongst 87 Commonwealth Games Legacy projects to share in 1,000 tickets allocated to the Big Lottery Fund and gifted from the Scottish Government’s Legacy Tickets Initiative.
The Legacy tickets are a thank you for those contributing to and benefiting from Scotland’s Games legacy.
Back in May this year the Big Lottery Fund ran an open ballot for the tickets aimed at its 2014 legacy projects awarded in the last year. This saw 950 of the tickets being given to groups across the country for a range of sporting events from athletics and cycling to boxing and badminton. The remaining 50 tickets were specifically for the opening and closing ceremonies and were up for grabs as part of a competition for Celebrate grantholders. We asked you to provide content for our website relating to your Commonwealth themed project and we weren’t disappointed! Thank you to everyone who entered and for telling and showing us the fantastic ways in which you have been celebrating. After much careful deliberation we chose the following seven winning projects:
